An incredible weekend in NOLA

This past weekend was the 5th anniversary of Katrina and were so many events around New Orleans: Thursday evening I went to the Resiliency Summit in the French Quarter to catch Cameron Sinclair's speech on rebuilding.  On Friday I attended TEDxnola, which was absolutely incredible, summaries of speakers can be found in my tweet list.  On Saturday, attended the Rising Tide conference, a great event discussing bringing a better future to New Orleans residents.  That evening went to check out the Block Party to celebrate neighborhood rebuilding, the release of One Block's Aperture book, & opening at the Ogden.  The Rebirth Brass Band played and my project partner of Say Something Projects and I began our initial recording, website coming soon. Sunday was the 5th anniversary of Katrina and spent the majority of the time in the Lower Ninth Ward for a second line parade and neighborhood meetup, film shorts here, with short documentary coming soon.  We spoke with so many wonderful people, some being residents in the Make It Right Foundation homes.  Thank you for the tours and your generosity Nola, Trudy, Janice, Reverend Joan, and Puck!!  And for the deelish chicken wing Ted!  I look forward to seeing you all again soon.  Also stopped in at NOMA for Richard Misrach's photography exhibit for Aperture.  What an incredible and enlightening weekend and thank you amazing people of New Orleans!!
