This lovely soap is a beautiful sculpture for your home, fantastic for your skin, and a meaningful gift that gives to many. Each black, bird-shaped soap contains a handmade ceramic bird, which remains as a keepsake once the outer soap has washed away.
Through the daily act of washing, you will eventually free the clean, white, ceramic birds inside - potent symbols of restoration and recovery. The soap is shaped to be cradled in your hand and is a powerful representation of all creatures affected by the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Disaster.
The soaps are made with natural, locally sourced ingredients: biodiesel glycerin, fair trade olive oil, aloe, activated black charcoal, and a light cypress scent - reminiscent of Louisianan bayous.
10% of proceeds are donated to environmental cleanup and care for affected animals of the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Disaster. (Gulf Restoration Network & International Bird Rescue) $28,674 donated and counting!.
To prolong the life of handmade soap please keep in a soap dish and allow to dry between uses. Store in a cool and dry place until ready for use.
These fine soaps are all-natural, they contain no shea butter or animal products. We have received many thank you's from that for those that are allergic, and they are really so wonderful for your skin. It is great for all skin types and not drying for daily use. The heavenly Rigaud Cypress scent has a rich history that began in Paris in 1850 and is delightful for both women and men.
Testimonial from International Bird Rescue:
“The idea for BirdProject is so simple yet resonant, that of darkness washing away to something flawless and beautiful. We see this first hand all the time at International Bird Rescue. Birds that come to us covered in oil and thick tar get a second chance when they’re thoroughly washed and nursed back to health. We are so grateful for our partnership with BirdProject. This is a company that walks the walk, and knows exactly what we mean when we say, “Every Bird Matters.”
